Green Dotty

Another fan painted in response to the carpet of yellow flowers,  Erysium Naxense found all over the Greek island of Naxos this time of year. The profusion of bright yellow against the bright green of the grasses was a real feast for the eyes and just had to be painted. There is a larger fabric fan available on the same theme, Erysimum, find it in my Greens section..

Tiny points of different shades of greens and yellows with hints of gold over a spring green base that covers the  whole leaf of the fan.  Slightly smaller and lighter than my usual fabric Art fans....this is a slender, elegant and compact fan of super slim bamboo staves and silk leaf. The staves are painted with similar effect with a yellow outline of the petals that inspired this fan.  Ideal for small bags and commutes. perfect Mothers day Gift :))

Comes with an artist palette Charm which is finished with the colours used in it's making and one of my Indian sourced golden tassels which compliments the glittering gold accents on the fan. Also comes  with a customised pale gold silk pouch.

Hand painted and always utterly unique from Artist SAND, Mistress of Arts Royal Academy London.

Available and ready to dispatch next day!

Perfectly useful gift for any woman, whatever the occasion but this time of year especially as a thoughtful, useful and entirely unique keepsake for Mothers day? Wouldn't it l also make a delightful alternative to a floral bridal/bridesmaid corsage that will last much much longer and can be used over and over again?

I can include a card with a personal message upon request. Your fan will always be elegantly gift  wrapped and boxed too at no extra charge. You're No 1 Hand Fan is sent  priority shipping, world wide. It will be tracked and require a signature. Please see shipping information for estimated delivery times and costs.

When receiving a fan please open it gently upon arrival and leave open for a wee while to rid any lingering process smells and to generally let the fan breath.

Clean with a damp cloth and avoid rough handling, leaving in high temperatures and exposing to water....treat it as a usable art object and it will last you well.

If you are looking for a way to display your fan when not in use?

For a rustic look you can find small easels at craft stores that you can paint to match your fan as I have done for many of my photographs.

Some clients display their fans in deep frames, either open, for easy access or closed keeping the fan as an art object.

A super easy way to show your fan on a wall is to put up two wall protrusions, make sure they are soft finish or padded (not bare nails or screws) and rest bottom of the leaf of the fan on the points, so the fan spans open. Place the points about 5 inches / 12.6cms apart. Many of my images show fans displayed like this too.

Or you can find generic hand fan stands here:

  • Some care instructions....Your fan is pretty hardy but as a hand painted object, it needs to be loved and cared for. When it arrives, open slowly and carefully especially if your fan has had a long overseas journey.

Keep away from excessive water or direct excessive heat and anyone that wants to play with it roughly or with sticky fingers, I find a quick fan clip round the ear does the trick!

Your fan has been sealed and lacquered for its protection and can be cleaned gently with a soft damp cloth, do not rub vigorously as this may damage the painted surface of your fan.

  • Re International posting: I always send my fans out by deadline via Priority Royal Mail but delivery time may vary upon destination. Unforeseen mishaps and postage efficiency in destination country which are beyond my control may effect your delivery so please order in good time for your fan to arrive by your deadline.
